amla juice How to select

Description

Amla is a round shaped, vertical striped fibrous fruit of the deciduous tree "Euphorbiaceae" found mainly in India. It is greenish yellow in color and tastes sour. The fresh fruit is cut into rough pieces and then blended in a mixer to a smooth juice. Strain the juice to extract fresh Amla juice.

How to select

Purchase fresh amla juice which looks clear and is packaged in food quality tetra packs or food quality packaged bottles.

Culinary Uses

1. Have the fresh juice early in the morning as a health booster.
2. You can use the juice as a mixer for mocktails and cocktails.

How to Store

It is best used fresh. Once opened, use within few days. Always keep the juice in a sealed/ packaged condition in the refrigerator.

Health Benefits

1. Use 3 to 4 Indian gooseberries to make a glass of amla juice to induce more inclusion of Vitamin C.
2. Amla juice has cell rejuvenating properties and therefore is used in maintaining good health of skin and hair. Amla juice can be applied to the hair and then washed off to prevent dandruff and to keep the hair glossy and shining.
